Realizing the dream of becoming an international student at one of the leading universities in Europe is certainly not easy.

Tight competition with applicants from around the world and the flow of registration and many conditions sometimes become a burden for registrants.

But it is not impossible to achieve that dream if you struggle and prepare carefully.

Here we present what you must prepare to achieve a Letter of Acceptance (LoA) at a popular European university.

Select Country of Choice

Most registrants will look for a program or university first, even though determining the country in advance can save research time because it will indirectly constrict choices.

If you are still not able to determine the country you want to be a place to continue your education, try to start an analysis of the language, culture, climate, and conditions of their society whether it fits with your character.

For example, if you want to study in Germany, you must have minimal German language skills at level B1. Even though the programs are in English, German language skills are very important to be used for daily conversation.

Unlike Sweden, where the majority of people prefer to use English rather than the original language, Svenska.

Program and University Research

Next, determine the program and university that matches your background. Condition this by analyzing your study background, work experience and interests.

You can see a list of top universities through the QS World University Rankings website which provides complete information on universities around the world. And also can see reviews about universities in Europe here.

For those of you who are laymen, programs in Europe are more specific than Indonesia and the educational power is relatively short, which is one year for masters. In addition, if you want to take a postgraduate degree decide whether to choose a research or taught program.

The research program tends towards teaching more theories to produce prospective educators and researchers. While taught is more focused on practical teaching that produces practitioners. Don't forget to pay attention to the curriculum and choice of material to be studied during the lecture.

Preparing Required Documents

Now that you are sure about the choice of country, program and university you want it is time to enter the most critical stage, which is preparing documents for the registration process.

Each institution has its own requirements but most of the public documents requested are the same.

Certificates and transcripts in English.
Many universities in Indonesia have issued bilingual certificates, but if not, please translate your certificate through sworn translator services or the term Sworn Translator.

Resume.
European countries are very strict in the format of resume or curriculum vitae (CV) so make sure that you make it according to instructions. Some campuses suggest that applicants make resumes online at europass.

Letter of recommendation
The majority of universities in Europe ask for this as a requirement so from far in advance contact the lecturer who knows your track record while studying.

By default there are two letters requested, namely lecturer and / or your employer works. You simply enter the email address in question and the form link will be sent to the recommendation provider.

Attach scientific papers or thesis summaries.
The best universities in Europe often ask for the results of scientific work or a brief summary of the thesis done by prospective students. This is to assess how you understand the material and research methods conducted. Usually research studies programs that ask for these requirements.

Certificate of minimal English proficiency C1.
Almost all countries in Europe have not included the TOEFL as an official certificate but IELTS. The target you must achieve is a minimum score of 6.5 with each section (listening, reading, writing, and speaking) not less than 6.0.

Make a Motivation Letter / Application Essay

Making a motivation letter / application essay about the reason you decide to study at the chosen program and university is actually not difficult but it does require perseverance and correction of writing many times. Not infrequently prospective students find it difficult to write well and fail to convey their purpose of continuing their studies.

You must often read the writings that have been made by others and analyze the writing techniques. Write based on the experience you have and associate it with the study program and what benefits can be taken.

Include also the character and model of leadership and achievements that you have achieved. Give motivation and what courses you are interested in in the program you choose.

Always give your writings to friends to give advice and correction. This really helps you if there is something missing or forgotten for you to include in your motivation letter / application essay.
